A washdown motor is specifically engineered to withstand frequent cleaning and moisture‑rich conditions in industries such as food processing, pharmaceuticals, and chemicals. Made with corrosion‑resistant 304 stainless steel, it endures regular sanitising agents and damp atmospheres.

Huifeng Stainless Steel Single‑Phase Motor – How It Works
When single‑phase power is applied, the main winding generates a pulsating magnetic field, which alone cannot start rotation.
The start capacitor is connected in series with the start winding, causing the start‑winding current to lead the main‑winding current by about 90°, creating a rotating magnetic field and producing starting torque.
The rotor accelerates under the rotating magnetic field.
When the speed reaches 70%–80% of rated speed, the built‑in centrifugal switch disconnects the start capacitor, completing the start sequence.
The motor continues running on the main winding (or with a permanent split capacitor) for stable continuous operation.
The TEFC construction and IP55 stainless steel enclosure protect internal electrical components from dust and water spray, making it suitable for washdown environments.
